- Days One & Two
Oxford
Two nights in Oxford, with college rooms requested where a college offers guest accommodation. A guided visit to the Bodleian Library from its published tour programme, and a talk with an academic arranged through the university where a suitable specialist is available.
- Day Three
A country house between cities
A night at a working country estate — a shoot lunch in season or a quiet afternoon in the library, as you prefer.
- Day Four
Salisbury
A privately guided tour of Salisbury Cathedral, including the Chapter House and the cathedral's copy of Magna Carta — the best preserved of the four surviving 1215 originals.
- Day Five
Canterbury
A privately guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral, followed by Choral Evensong in the Quire — sung daily in term — and supper nearby.
- Day Six
Return to London
A morning at Leeds Castle or Sissinghurst, then a chauffeured return to Mayfair for a final night.
